The FRIO® will improve the life of anyone dependent on insulin or many other temperature-sensitive medications. The FRIO® is a cooler whose properties do not come from an icepack – or anything that needs refrigeration. Its properties come from the evaporation of water. When activated, it keeps its temperature under 78F for a minimum of two days, even in temperatures of 100°F. For a FRIO® to be activated, simply soak it in water for 5 – 10 minutes. It retains its properties for a minimum of two full days. After that, re-soak it in water and it is good for another two days – and so on, and so on… While a traditional medication case gives you a six to eight hour “chain” to refrigeration, FRIO cuts that chain. The FRIO® offers the security of not being dependent on refrigeration for the life-critical of your insulin. It gives you freedom and flexibility to enjoy life as you choose. Furthermore, because you do not need an icepack or the surrounding insulating materials, the FRIO® wallet is lighter and smaller than traditional medication- cases. There are various sizes of FRIO® available – some small enough to fit in your jean pocket.

Love it I have type 2 diabetes and am currently taking insulin. While preparing for a trip to Africa, I was looking for a way to insure that my insulin could be refrigerated while camping in the Serengeti. I heard about the Frio cooling wallet on a travel message site and figured it was worth a try. I first took the wallet with me on a trip to the Grand Canyon and was amazed that the wallet kept my insulin cool the entire time. In Africa – I experienced the same – after re-hydrating, it worked for…

GREAT PRODUCT !!!! I purchased these for my son who has type 1 diabetes, and travels for his sport. These ‘wallets’ provide the freedom from finding a hotel room with a refrigerator and being concerned that the insulin will overheat. Although they are advertised as keeping insulin cool, instead, I would say they prevent the insulin from getting overly warm. He wears an insulin pump, changing the insulin reservoir every 3 days, and the insulin in his pump is not ‘cold’ or refrigerated while attached to his…

Poor quality resulted in stitching failure and gel loss It appears to work OK, but the construction is a bit poor. On my first trip using this, while trying to squeeze a bottle of Novolog into the squishy gel pouch, the gel started squirting out onto the floor. One of the stitches was loose at the corner and a hole opened up where the gel started leaking out. I don’t think enough of it leaked out to make a huge difference, but I expect more of it to fall out eventually making the item unusable. Not the level of quality I expected.
