BD Home Sharps Container
Designed to hold both insulin syringes and pen needles, the bdtm home sharps container is a leak-proof and puncture-resistant container for safe, convenient disposal of used sharps. It has a permanently locking, snap-top lid and holds 70 to 100 insulin syringes or 300 pen needles, depending upon the size of the syringe being disposed of.
Great container, but a needle clipper is a better solution I just received this but I am comfortable writing a review because it’s a simple container. It’s well built, and relatively safe, although I think someone could get a syringe back out if they put their mind to it. I bought this for insulin needles, and I can see now that, at 3 syringes a day, it’s going to be full in a month. I immediately started looking for a larger one, and then realized the best way to go for insulin users is actually a syringe needle clipper, for a couple of reasons…
Holds razor blades and hobby knife (x-acto) blades just fine. I go through a lot of raxor blades and x-acto knife type blades in my work, and safely disposing of the things when they got too dull to be useful was a real, nerve wracking hassle.Fortunately for me, the openings on the top of this sharps container is plenty large for the hobby knife blades, and the razors fit in too– there’s hardly room to spare, but the razors do drop right on in without having to push any. I’m glad I did not have to resort to cutting a bigger drop hole with a…
Itâs a great design with two different openings Iâm using this for the needles from my insulin pens and lancets from testing, so it will last a long time before getting full. I can see if youâre using syringes, it would probably fill up a lot faster. Itâs a great design with two different openings, one for the lancets and the other for removing the needle from the pen without having to put the shield back on. Perfect for my needs. And seals up permanently when youâre ready to dispose of it.
